 A prolific writer and published photographer, Dori has earned  journalism awards both as a freelance writer and full-time reporter for publications including the Seattle Times; The Herald in Everett, Wash.; and the Yakima Herald-Republic in Yakima, Wash. The Associated Press has picked up many of her articles, which have run in newspaper and magazine publications nationwide.

Now living in Yakima, Wash., Dori writes and edits freelance. She is also writing her first nonfiction book: Get Your Butt in Gear: Tough Talk to Permanent Weight Loss.

For most authors and would-be authors, motivation to write comes straight from their hearts; they cannot imagine any other vocation. Such is the case for Dori, who strives for accuracy and truth in her articles and adheres to the Society of Professional Journalists code of ethics.
